Closing Line Value (CLV)

Also known as: CLV

How your odds compare to the final line — the best predictor of long-term profit.

Closing line value measures the difference between the odds you got and the odds when the market closed. Beating the closing line consistently means you're betting ahead of a sharp market.

Because the closing line reflects all available money and information, CLV correlates with long-term profit more reliably than short-run results do. It's the metric to watch when your sample is still small.
